Why I Wrote The Price We Must Pay For Our Father's Sins

Author: Ellen Jean Barrier

The year is 1994, and I'm presently writing my first book and have yet to finish. I see visions of people and hear their voices when I'm asleep and when I'm awake. Every place they go and every event in their life is always before me. Each one of them has their own story. I only need to write what I see and what I hear.

Their stories are played out before my eyes in many different scenes. Unlike the other book I'm working onwhich needs facts and researchthis book requires neither. And unlike the other book, I knew the title previous to writing it. But for this book, such was not the case. Still, I must write their stories.

I feel the emotions of each of these characters. Their emotions are within my being. As I write their stories I feel happiness, sadness, anger, love, hate, uncertainty, and hopelessness. Their stories have taken me on a journey, through which I have seen many tragedies and visited many places where horrible things have happened to innocent people.

In the year of 1997, I saw a scene where a young man, who had endured much suffering and hardship, sat and visited with friends, confiding in them about his life and others. "Death is the inevitable price we must pay," he said. He further noted, "this is the price we must pay for our father's sins."

In the year of 2013 The Price We Must Pay For Our Father's Sins was nominated for best screenplay at the Beverly Hills Film Festival.

Photos and Quotes from The Price We Must Pay For Our Father's Sins

Death is the inevitable price we must pay. Freedom is not a thing my family nor myself have ever experienced. Our father's evilness prevented us from being free.

My brother and I were born in his prison. It made us enemies, and holds our mother captive.

This is the price we must pay for our father's sins.

Tony Elliott,
The son of Jim Elliott

Priscilla Emerson, the wife of Jim Elliott lives in a prison of fear and torment. On her wedding night, she discovered the true identity of the man she had fallen in love with.

The eyes she once loved to gaze into, during the romantic moments they spent together, that brought out the passion of a deep love that she felt from within her soul for him, vanished on her wedding night: When she looked into his eyes she saw cold and deadly evil with a murderous look that caused her to fear him. Each time he touched her, fear gripped her soul as the flames of hell that consumed her entire body. She knew he was incapable of loving another human being.

She and her family can never be free from this prison:

"How can a dead man reach beyond the grave and continue to destroy and dominate someone else's life?  The pain he has inflicted upon me will never go away." Priscilla concludes.

You do not become a threat to those who want to see you fail, until you become successful. This is when you discover who your enemies are.

Loyalty in a Relationship Will Stabilize It

Loyalty is not in the heart of a wicked person. Wicked people attract others like themselves. If you give your heart to a wicked person, it will be broken.

It is not wise to fall in love with a wicked person. The mind of a wicked person is unstable. Therefore, it can never be trusted to do the right thing in a relationship.

If you work to establish a future with a wicked person, all of your efforts will fail.
Strong people do not earn their wealth to build a future of financial stability, to be shared with a disloyal person.

Weakness dwells within the bosom of a disloyal person.

Loyalty Dwells in the Bosom of True Love

This is where you will find strength, and trust, that is the foundation of an everlasting relationship, with the person that is your soulmate. This person will never break your heart.
